What kind of photo(s) are the best to send for a reference?
Please visit this link to learn all about choosing the best reference photos:
How do I send my reference photos?
Send an email to me directly AFTER you have paid your deposit, or validated your gift certificate. Send to my email address with your reference photo(s) as a high quality JPEG attachment ** PLEASE do NOT send photos via facebook messenger, text etc.... Photos sent via text or messenger will be disregarded.
Can I put more than 1 pet (or a person etc...) in a single work of art?
Yes! As long as the size of art you are booking is 11X14" or larger, I will be happy to accommodate any special requests. Sorry, multiple subject compilations are not available in the 8X10" size.
When will you begin/finish my artwork?
My custom artwork is started in the order in which deposits are received, or, gift certificates are validated. My wait list can range from a few weeks to up to a full year. While I try and give the best estimates for start and finish dates I can, this is not an exact science so please book well in advance if you want to plan for a special occasion, birthday or holiday. Smaller pieces and graphite works of art take less time than larger color art. Usually an 8X10 graphite is completed in about a week's time. More complex pastels and mixed media can take a month or more.
What will the final balance be for my artwork?
This will be different for almost every work of art. Your size and media chosen, background options, how many pets or people in the artwork etc. will all play a part in calculating a quote for your custom artwork. The cost of the piece will be established after reviewing your reference photos and we agree upon your custom artwork order. Once the plan for artwork and a quote is agreed upon and I begin working, you may not change your order. The final balance due may only change slightly if the artwork is very large or requires special packaging.
What about shipment?
After your artwork is complete and balance has been paid, I send my artwork wrapped in glassine paper sandwiched between layers of thick cardboard (and / or foam board) and send via USPS insured. Typically, shipping fees with the USA are between $15 and $35 for smaller works and $35 - $75 for large pieces. I do not charge over $100 for shipping regardless of the end cost unless you are having a FRAMED work of art shipped with glass. These artworks must be sent UPS with special packaging and the costs typically begin at $100.
When is my final balance due?
After I send you a finished image of your artwork and you approve the piece, I will package the art and get your final shipping estimate. If you are using a validated gift certificate you would have already paid $15 toward shipping so that of course will be subtracted as part of your deposit when calculating your final balance due. Payments can be sent via paypal, venmo, or personal check and payment in full must be received before I ship the artwork.
What If I am not happy with the art?
While I am proud to say that this has never happened before, I promise to RE-DO your artwork or provide a gift certificate for 75% of your deposit. Any re-do's will be added to the waitlist at the bottom of my current running list. To make sure you are 100% satisfied with the final art, I am happy to share progress photos during the creation of the piece so that you will have ample opportunity to ask me to modify something if you feel it's not developing as you would like.
What if this artwork is a surprise gift?
**** UNLESS IT IS REQUESTED THAT I DO NOT, I SHARE ALL OF MY ART ON MY SOCIAL MEDIA FEEDS ** Please be sure to let me know if you do not want me to share your work in progress with the public. I can keep a secret if you need me to!
